Log In

Problems with Getting In:
Double check your username and password. Verify them with your manager. The words may have been changed. Call us at 416-967-4392 if the words have been lost.

If you try to log in, with incorrect passwords, more than three times in a row the system will lock your account for security reasons. Try again after a half-hour.

Try changing to another browser, restarting your computer, or asking your computer advisor about your settings.


Viewing & Downloading

Search menu:
After log in, the master search menu appears. After entering criteria and clicking on "Search," a table of sales appears. Most sales will have a detailed report in PDF format. Click on the icon to see it.

A downloadable, printable PDF format:
Detailed sales reports are Adobe Acrobat PDF files. The free Adobe® Acrobat® Reader® software can be downloaded from the Adobe web site at: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/

Once you've installed Acrobat you can click on the icons and view the PDF sales reports as you are browsing the MarshNet site. You may download them to the desk-top for printing, viewing or storage in your own data bank.

CAUTION: Opening, on the site, more than one or two PDF files at once, or trying to print them directly from the site, may cause your computer to stall. Download them to the desktop first.

If there 's no PDF icon:
If there's no icon for a recent sale, it hasn't yet been fully researched. The brief information in the summary is subject to correction. We'll enter a detailed report later on sales of $1.5 million or more.

To download a file to your hard drive:
Click on the icon to open the document. In the tool bar there is an icon that looks like a diskette: Click on it to save the file.

OR:

  • In Internet Explorer (Windows): Right click the icon & select "Save Target As ..."
  • In Netscape (Windows): Right click the icon & select "Save Link As ..."
  • In Internet Explorer (Mac): Right click the icon & select "Download Link to Disk."
  • In Netscape (Mac): Right click the icon & select "Save this Link As..."

To use the Keyword Search feature:
Click on the "Keyword Search" tab on the menu page. A new menu page will open. Enter requests as suggested. All PDF files on the site will be combed to find files with the words you're looking for. A table of relevant sales will be presented.


Answers To Problems

My computer freezes when using the PDF files:
This may happen if you try to print files directly from the site, or if you open more than one or two PDF files on the site at a time. Save them to the desktop instead.

I'm having trouble searching the database:
Simple requests may work better than detailed ones. Try entering only one, two or three criteria in the search menu.

Some properties may have more than one address number, or may front on two streets. Try entering a street name and leaving off the address number: You can then scan the table of sales that results, to find the sale you want.

Property types are sometimes ambiguous. "Rural Land" can be confused with "Residential Land." "Retail Building" can be confused with "Retail Plaza." Request more than one type in such cases.

Sales of under $1,000,000 are not included in the database.
